Gale A. Whitehair, 86, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away on January 17, 2023 at WVU Medicine, Camden Clark.  He was born in Pennsboro, WV on March 24, 1936, a son of the late George D. and Nina (Jewell) Whitehair.  He was employed at the former Pennsboro marble factory, and also in the oil and gas fields.  He finished his working career with Asplundh, where he earned the nickname “Wheatie.”  He attended school at the Beech Grove one-room schoolhouse. 

Surviving are sons, Timothy Whitehair, Wayman Michael Whitehair and Steven Whitehair, all of Parkersburg, Kenny Mossor of Waynesburg, OH, and Calvin Mossor of Carrollton, OH; a daughter, Ginger Whitehair of Morgantown, WV; his companion of 13 years, Dora Whitehair;  and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his first wife, Elma (Hoalcraft) Whitehair; second wife, Linda (Mossor) Whitehair; sisters, Jesse Nash, Francis Dodd and Ginger Atkinson; and brothers, Ralph, Luther “Sonny”, and identical twin, Dale Whitehair. 

A funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 21, at McCullough Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV.  Burial followed in Wilson Cemetery, near Pennsboro.
