Leona M. Bolton, 100, of East Liverpool, OH, peacefully passed away to rejoin the love of her life, her husband Bucky, on Thursday, March 4, 2021, with loving family by her side.
She was born Dec. 15, 1920, in Harrisville, WV, a daughter of the late John and Bonnie (Nutt) Swadley. She loved to play softball and go square dancing as a young lady. Her greatest love was being with family. She loved to travel with her husband. She was an amazing cook and baker. She was hardworking, enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Triangle Seniors.
Surviving are two daughters, Loraine Givens and husband Robert of Virginia Beach, VA, and Donna Forzano and husband Bob of East Liverpool; two granddaughters, Stephanie Grey and husband Bob of East Liverpool and Kimberly Gladding and husband David of Virginia Beach; three great-grandchildren, Chad Grey and wife Kasi of East Liverpool, Chelsea Helkowski and husband Doug of Alexandria, VA and Nicholas Gladding of Virginia Beach; and three great-great-grandchildren, McKenna Grey, Xander Grey and Ariana Helkowski.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, whom she married, June 27, 1944, Bernard E. “Bucky” Bolton; two brothers, Leo and Brooks Swadley; and four sisters, Mary Boggess, Maxine Hickman, Rose Metz and Donnis Hill.
A private family service was held at Dawson Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Edwards, St. John Lutheran Church, officiating. She was laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
