Twyla Marie Lamp, 82, of Harrisville, WV, passed Friday, June 18, 2021, in Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg, WV, after an extended illness.
She was born August 16, 1938, in Pleasants County, WV, a daughter of the late Earl and Mildred (Kidder) Parsons. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Harrisville. She was a 1957 graduate of St. Marys High School and retired from Troy Mills, Harrisville, after 14 years of service. Her previous employment also included Economy Industries, Colin Anderson Center, and Pine View Nursing Home.
Twyla loved camping, sewing, crocheting and flower gardening, but mostly she loved her family and spending time with them. She married Creal Lamp on March 16, 1964, the love of her life, who was by her side for 57 years, including up until her final breath on this earth.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Terry Lamp (Missy) and Mark Lamp (Jenny); grandchildren, Kayla Cunningham, Aaron Lamp, Grayson Lamp, Levi Lamp, Chloe Britton and Gavin Britton; great-granddaughter, Mia Borror; brothers, William “Bill” and John Parsons; sister, Sylvia Gainer; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were brothers, Edward Parsons and twins, Gene and Glen Parsons; sisters, Phyliss Dent, Lulabelle Elder, and Virginia Hope Parsons; nephews, Glen “Frank” Parsons, and John Bettem; niece, Tammy Wince; great-nephew, Christian J. Tomkus; and great-niece, Aubrey E. Parsons.
A service was held Tuesday, June 22, at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with the Revs. John Frum and Bill Dawson officiating. Burial followed in Harrisville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
